What do you think when you hear the phrase SEO partner?
I’ve heard a wide variety of answers when I ask this question. I’ve gotten responses ranging from “are you asking me for money?” all the way to the other end of the spectrum “how much money are you going to give me?”
There’s no right answer. But I’ll try to shed some light on how we view our own partnership opportunities.
We made a decision a long time ago (all the way back in 2007) that we were going to focus a lot of our energy and attention on building successful partner programs.
Thanks to the amazing folks we’ve worked with over the years, we’ve been able to do just that.
Let’s cover the options, because there are a variety of ways that talented folks become SEO partners with us each and every day.
In-House Affiliate Recurring Revenue
This was our first partnership platform and continues to be the largest that we run.
The glory is in its simplicity. After all, getting involved can be as simple as signing up and throwing up a banner on your website.
By offering a recurring revenue model, it means that when you refer customer sign ups to us, you’ll continue getting paid every single time the customer receives a bill. For the lifetime of the customer.
As many of you know, a strong SEO strategy treats search marketing like a marathon and not a sprint. What that means is that our customers generally stay with us for a long time after they sign up.
Many of our affiliate partners get monthly checks for literally years from sending just one high-quality referral. Not a bad return on investment eh?
That, and our constant efforts to create new and interesting promotional materials for our affiliates to use, have made this a smash hit.

ShareASale Bounty
One request we kept getting was for an alternative to the recurring revenue system. More specifically, partners wanted the option to participate in a bounty system.
Some folks wanted quick cash that didn’t involve a waiting period between the customer signing up with us and us achieving results to transition that client’s services to a billable item.
So we did some research and the result is our bounty affiliate program hosted by ShareASale.
Partners advertise in the much the same way that our in-house affiliate members do, but they’ll get paid immediately and only one-time per customer sign up.

White Label SEO Reseller Program
This is our latest program, and our crown jewel. It’s taken the most time to properly develop, and we believe it has the potential to grow into our most successful partnership program to date
The biggest draw of this program is that it gives our partners the ability to sell our SEO services themselves without ever exposing their customers to the RankPay brand.
Web designers, digital marketers and web hosts alike were clamoring for us to build this. So we put our heads together and came up with the program as it exists today.
Without ever leaving our partners’ website, their customers are able to see our unique pricing and purchase pay for performance SEO services directly from our partners.
The benefits are many
- Additional value you can bring to your customers
- Additional avenue for monetizing your existing customers
- Possibility to reach customers that would have overlooked your brand prior
Web Host SEO Partnerships
Last but certainly not least, we have a growing number of fairly unique partnerships with web hosts.
They came to fruition in much the same way that all of our partner programs did. Through conversations with eventual partners.
Over the past few years, we’ve developed cPanel plugins, WP widgets and plugins, and are working on an API. All by popular demand.
The cooperation we’ve experienced with web hosts thus far has been astounding. By working together we’ve accomplished far more than either of us could have on our own.
And with that progress has come commercial success. We were even featured in The Hosting News last year.
If you’re a web host and want to talk about what we can do together, don’t hesitate to reach out. You may find we already have the tools you’re looking for, but even if you don’t we’re always open to new ideas.
